The dogs surely are glad when it's all over

Unfortunately we can not avoid sand
from running into our water tanks
whenever there are heavy rainfalls.

The tanks get overfilled with dirt of the worst kind.

REPERATION WORK AT THE SHELTER AND IN CHAWENG

A thunderstorm had torn down
a big tree in the shelter;
it fell on our single boxes and damage was big.

It was a hell of a job to saw the tree into pieces
and to carry the big branches outside the shelter.

This time it wasn't the fault of the storm.
We cut a big tree next to the puppy house
as far as possible.

Markus wants to build a roof between the puppy house and the main house.

We must place a big number
of dogs and puppies there;
having a roof when it is raining would be perfect!

STORM DAMAGE IN CHAWENG

Also in Chaweng the storm cost some damage
and the 5 meter high Bougainvillea bushes
got crashed.

Now only the bare trunks are left and the shadowy places for the cats are gone

We had to refense the whole cat-fence above the wall. The Bougainvillea took everything down with it.

Thankfully we have some pretty skilled helpers who easily hang around on top of the wall.

These bare trunks were giant bushes...
once upon a time! Up to 5 metres high.
Of the palm-tree next door you only saw the tip!

After 4 months things look like that.
In 2--3 more months everything will be dense again.
It was quite good to tidy up the place,
as there had always "developed"
loppholes in the wirefence,
when the branches had grown through

All ready for the cats again!

REPAIR WORKS AT OUR HOUSE IN CHAWENG

Whenever the rain gets under the tails, they have to be retiled.

Otherwise we have rats and mouse and snakes or scalapendros coming up from under the house.

There is painting and welding work
going on everywhere.

Bonzo seems to be too heavy for that bench... I wonder if he's going to break through any minute!

We constantly have to build new benches for the dogs.

REPAIR- and RENOVATION WORK AT THE PUPPY HOUSE

Since we had so many tiles left over from the constration of the small-dog area,
we used them to tile part
of the puppy house wall outside.

It will be easier to fight against ticks when the wall is tiled and smooth, the ticks won't be able to nest as easily and we can get them a lot better
