GALINA (Female)

Hello dear humans out there! My name is Galina. Normally I'm not speaking to humans and keep my distance as good as possible. Of course here at the shelter this is not always easy to do especially in this rather small compound I'm living in. I was born somewhere up in the Samui mountains as a wild dog. My family and stray dog friends lived far away from humans and would only go near a little mountain village to search for food and water. We often went in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping and quietly checked out the bins. Most nights we sneaked in and out of the village totally unnoticed by the humans. Several times we tried it during the day but as soon as someone saw us, they chased us away. I think the village people were as scared of us as we were scared of them. Sometimes I feel more like a wild wolf than a dog. I don't want to talk about how I got here, that's a memory I've locked deep down inside me. Fact is that I'm now a Dog Rescue Dog and had to adjust in certain ways. I could never ever imagine a human touching me and I often shake my head in disbelieve when I see other dogs longing for attention or play around with the humans. I only let them come close when they hand out tin food on a spoon, often with some colorful pills inside. Other than that I keep a safe distance. Is there anyone out there who could envision sponsoring a wild wolf like me?
