BUKOWSKI (male)

I was brought to the shelter because I had many wounds and almost no fur. Of course I they wanted to castrate me also but I was too heavily injured and too weak and so they waited. After I spent weeks in a single box and my wound had healed my admission card had disappeared. Nobody remembered where on Koh Samui I had lived before. Since I had spent such a long time in a single box and since I was no criminal they had to find a solution. That was easy; the door was opened, I jumped out and now I live with many other dogs in compound no. 8. This is the most beautiful compound and I hope that the helpers won't remember where I come from. I won't tell them, that's for sure. I carried off a lot of scars, that's why my chances are rather bad to find a new home on Koh Samui. But the food is good, there are a lot of pals to play with. What do I want more?

Unfortunately Bukowski has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter,Sandra from Stuttgart in Germany was looking after Bukowski. Thank you very much!

CHECKY (female)

Unfortunately Checky has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS, Nicole and Marco from Zürich in Switzerland were looking after her. Thank you very much!

TYSON (male)

I was brought to the DRCS by a stranger and for a while nobody even noticed that I was there. Every dog that arrives at the shelter gets a Medicine and registration card. I wasn't sick and therefore didn't need any medicine. But I was lucky, You dont need a card in order to get food. I was finally noticed as Brigitte was on one of her inspection tours. The only disadvantage is that I now need to get all my injections. I hate those discussing needles. Oh, and I also got sterilised. Wasn't happy about that either. But the females here are not prepared to have sex anyway and after the operation it´s not a big issue for me anymore. As long as the food is right!

Unfortunately Tyson passed away. Our thoughts are with him.

Tyson we will miss you! Love, Rachel & Michel

During his time at the shelter, Rachel and Michel from Switzerland were looking after him. Thank you very much.

SIMON  (female)

Unfortunately Simon has died. We all miss her very much!

During her time at the shelter, Maaret from Finland was looking after Simon. Thank you very much!

KIRA SONG (female)

Unfortunately Kira Song has died. We all miss her very much!

During her time at the shelter, Henriette and Svein from Norway were looking after her. Thank you very much.

POPPIE (male)

I was brought in because I had been involved with some other male dogs. I had done my best to fight back with these dogs but I'm on the elderly side of life and I have no front teeth left. At the shelter, not only was the wound on my back fixed up, but the really bad ear infection was also sorted - that makes such a difference as I don't feel there are lots of ants running around in my head any more. Brigitte says that I am such an old crumble that I can stay with her for as long as I want. I want that very much. I like it here, in particular, when we get visitors as I get to jump up on them and put dirty paw prints all over their clothes.

Unfortunately Poppie has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Kirsche and Nick from Worthing in England were taking care of Poppie. Thank you very much!

MARISE (female)

Unfortunately Marise has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Gary and Marie from the UK were looking after Marise. Thank you very much!

WENDEL (male)

I was brought to the shelter by some tourists because my coat was in a terrible condition. I wasn't particularly happy when I first came here because I don't like big dogs. I was moved to the big shelter and it's much better here. I can run around and roll in the dirt all day long (if I want). I like it when visitors come to the shelter and make a fuss of me. I LOVE being brushed.

Unfortunately Wendel has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, the Patricia Cornwell Fan Group from Sweden were looking after Wendel. Thank you very much!

TAMILA  (female)

I came with Ellen, Tiana, Tamila and Gerold to DRCS. We were put into a cardboard box and placed on the back of a pick-up belonging to DRCS. Fortunately it did not rain that night. We cried as loud as we could all night, but nobody heard us. Since the box was tightly secured and we were only six weeks old, that is all we could do. Finally in the morning somebody found us. We were so hungry! Brigitte was very delighted when she saw our group in the box. In the beginning Werner gave us additional milk in the bottle. We all felt very comfortable here at DRCS. There was ample food, and most of the big cats were nice to us. The whole day was filled with eating, sleeping and playing. We met Lisa. Lisa (sponsor dogs and cats 25) is a very special cat. She is devotedly taking care of all kittens. She lets us suck at her nipples - that is really calming. And she always cleaned us thoroughly and showed us how to do that. Lisa has nurtured so many kittens without mothers - that is why she is loved very much by already grown up cats. We had to be quick to get a place at her breast. Since we were taken care of so well by Lisa, we are all big and strong by now. We are still living at DRCS and feel very comfortable.

Unfortunately Tamila has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Michaela and Patrik from Prague were looking after Tamila. Thank you very much!

SONJA SONG (female)

Unfortunately Sonja Song has died. We all miss her very much!

During her time at the DRCS, Samina from Finland was looking after Sonja Song. Thank you very much!

CREAM (female)

Unfortunately Cream has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Anita from Germany was looking after Cream. Thank you very much!

Klappa

KLAPPA (female)

I was taken to the DRCS almost two years ago, because I was very skinny and had hardly a single hair left. It took a long time until I had halfway recovered. But all of a sudden I got very very sick. I got distemper. Normally, dogs suffering from distemper hardly have a chance to survive. After a very short time only I was totally paralyzed and could only just lift my head. No animals are put to sleep in Thailand, even if there is hardly a chance that they will recover. I did not know what had happened to me and why all of a sudden I could not walk anymore, but I was taken care of nicely and spent all day lying in a big basket on the terrace. I got a lot of drugs always hidden in delicious canned food and after three weeks I could move my hind legs a little bit and after another six weeks I could hop around again. My illness is once year ago by now and I still have a somewhat awkward way of walking. Most probably will never be able again to walk really normally. By now I am quite fat.

Unfortunately Klappa has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Lesley from the U.K. was looking after Klappa. Thank you very much!

POINT (male)

I was brought into the shelter because I was chasing all the motorcycles and trying to eat their tires! Some tourist thought I was a danger to me and all the motorcycle riders. I was only having a little bit of fun! Anyway, I'm now at the shelter and having a fun time chasing the volunteers as they try to sweep up.

Unfortunately Point has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Sara from Saudi Arabia was looking after Point. Thank you very much!

FELIX (male)

Someone hit me on the head with something heavy but I cannot remember anything from before that. I was brought to Dr Somsak because I was bleeding profusely from my eyes, nose and mouth. I gave up eating and drinking so for two weeks so I was given infusions at Dr Somsak's surgery. After that, I was taken to Brigitte's and Werner's and I became much happier as I was safe. Because of the beating I received, the optic nerves to both my eyes have been severed so I can't see anything. Apart from that, I'm quite happy as the food here is very good and I sleep on the terrace for most of the day. I play with the dogs in the house but the other cats tend to ignore me because I am blind. I like to sleep in Brigitte's arm. She likes that and I do too.

Unfortunately Felix has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Patricia from Leuggern in Switzerland was looking after Felix. Thank you very much!

KENDO (male)

I like children; not on toast, I just like playing with them! I used to go into the playground of my favourite school in Nathon and run around with the children. Most of them didn't mind but, as usual, there has to be a few little monsters who didn't like me and threw stones at me. Luckily, one of the teachers saw what was going on and telephoned Brigitte who immediately sent someone to collect me. So, I now live at the shelter but I would really love to live in a family with some children

Unfortunately Kendo has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Karin from Munich in Germany was looking after Kendo. Thank you very much!

BOY (male)

I was brought to the DRCS with a very huge wound on my back. Pui, on of our helpers, had quite a hassle with me. Because of my big stinky wound I was being chased away from wherever I went and got pretty shy. And also, on the Chaweng-Beach road I only showed up at night, once the rubbish bins were full. Shortly after Pui gave me some delicious food, I didn't care about anything anymore and he could easily catch me. That bitter stuff inside the lovely food made me so tired. At first I got along with all the other dogs outside Brigitte's place, but once I recovered and started to feel strong again, I decided to check out where I was standing on that ranking list. That all went wrong and I got another wound at the exact same place. I've definitely become more careful now.

Unfortunately Boy has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Doris from St. Pölten in Austria was looking after Boy. Thank you very much!

DON SONG (male)

I was living at the Chaweng-Noi beach of the Fair House Beach Resort. I ran into problems with the vendors at the beach. They always threatened me and I barked at them. One day I went too far and bit one of them. Of course my life was in danger after that - the gestures of the vendors were clear when they were talking about me. The tourists who had liked me very much, became scared. They called DRCS and I was taken to the sanctuary at Bahn Taling Ngam. There I was put into a single cage - like a criminal. I was castrated and have been living at the sanctuary since then. I have not bitten any Thai here because they are quite different from the ones at the beach. They are basically our servants. They clean out our cages and serve the food. We have the whole day to play and sleep or just hang loose.

Unfortunately Don Song has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Nina from Australia was looking after Don Song. Thank you very much!

BEN SONG  (female)

Unfortunately Ben Song has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Bodo from Koh Samui was looking after Ben Song. Thank you very much!

SUNSHINE (female)

Unfortunately Sunshine has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Patricia from the Netherlands was looking after Sunshine. Thank you very much!

YELLOW (female)

I was brought to the shelter with 4 of my cat pals since all the neighbors around had gotten dogs and there was no space for us cats anymore. All these killer monsters do all day long is chasing and killing cats. Three of my pals have been brought to the shelter right away and I was allowed to stay in the house because one of these monsters had gotten hold of me. I was lucky and was able to get away. Nevertheless, he had gotten his teeth in my back and left the print of a tooth as a deep wound. Meanwhile, I have recovered and I played up to Brigitte. Successfully! After the sterilisation I was brought back to the house in Chaweng and I am still one of the cats that likes cuddling the most.

Unfortunately Yellow has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Hildegard and the Häxli-Clan from Walde in Switzerland were looking after Yellow. Thank you very much!

Lisa and Krümel

LISA SAHM (female)

I was involved in a contretemps with a brute of a dog and I came off worst. He bit me on the front right paw. Dr Jo operated on me but, despite that, my paw had to be amputated. When my (Thai) owner found this out, he immediately disowned me so I came to stay with Brigitte. As soon as I arrived in Brigitte's house, I adopted a one-week old kitten (Krümel) and I now look after him. I may have lost my paw but my maternal instincts are still intact.

Unfortunately Lisa Sahm has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Margarethe from Frankfurt/Main in Germany was looking after Lisa Sahm. Thank you very much!

ALMOND (male)

I was brought to the DRCS by animal loving tourists because one of my back paws was broken several times and was stiff after that. Moreover, I am cross-eyed a little. But I have never really regarded this as a handicap, it was rather normal for me. Everyone who has a look at me is always delighted. At the beginning, Brigitte also thought I was cute. Since I am quarrelsome when it comes to other cats, there was always trouble at the “fish party”. In Brigitte's and Werner's house in Chaweng, all cats are served freshly cooked fish every evening at about 11pm. That's the highlight of the day for us cats and all are waiting for the beginning behind the closed kitchen door. I also had to wait. For me, that took too long and I always started to fight with the other cats. Brigitte did not think that was very funny and brought me to the cat house in Ban Taling Ngam after a while. Unfortunately, here we do not get fish and at first I was quite troublesome. Meanwhile, I got used to the other cats and am a lot more calm and a agreeable sort of cat.

Unfortunately Almond has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Petra from Austria was looking after Almond. Thank you very much!

YAI YAI (male)

I was brought to the DRCS because I had a big tumour on my nose. This kind of tumour can be treated with chemotherapy and so injections were given every 10 to 14 days. Between these injections, I experienced the 'pleasure' of being castrated but I will have to stay at Brigitte's and Werner's house for a while. I am still not strong enough for the shelter in Ban Taling Ngam. I live at Brigitte's house for 3 years now and have recovered completely.

Unfortunately Yai Yai has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Daniela and Claus from Vienna were looking after Yai Yai. Thank you very much!

OPA (male)

Unfortunately Opa has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, the Art and Style Tattoo Studio from Schweinfurt in Germany were looking after Opa. Thank you very much!

KOP KHUN KHA (male)

I was caught for castration at one of the many temples on the island. Since I had mange and was very skinny at that time, I had to get used to the thought of staying at the shelter for quite a while. I was brought to one of the compounds. At that time Victor from the Czech Republic visited the shelter. He immediately decided to take me home. There I was supposed to live with him in a big castle with a huge garden! He paid for the blood test which necessary to travel to Europe. That was it. I have never heard from him again. Maybe I should be grateful, since nobody is talking about bringing me to the temple again. Since I have settled in very well in the shelter I only lack a sponsor. A real home would of course be great. Maybe someday someone will take me home.

Unfortunately Kop Khun Kha has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Pamela from Sweden was looking after Kop Khun Kha. Thank you very much!

AJAX (male)

I adopted a tourist who was living in a bungalow in Maenam. I just moved on to her balcony and she was so upset by my thin stature that she rushed out and bought lots and lots of dog food for me. This I enjoyed and the brushing thereafter. I have a skin condition where my hair keeps falling out and I'm itchy all over. As my tourist friend had to return home and she didn't want to leave me, she brought me to dog rescue where my skin condition is now being treated. Unfortunately, the treatment included an all-over shave at which I am not too happy.

Unfortunately Ajax has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Kiia from Heinola in Finland was looking after Ajax. Thank you very much!

CARINA (female)

I was brought to DRCS as a little helpless puppy by a tourist who was worried about me because of the traffic in Nathon where I roamed the streets. She thought that I couldn´t take care of myself. (And she was right since I was very skinny). I lived at the shelter in Chaweng for a while and grew bigger and bigger until I was almost the biggest dog there. The male dogs who hadn´t been castrated yet, were very interested in me! I thought that was great - Brigitte didn´t! I was brought to Ban Taling Ngam for my operation. First, I was very sad in Ban Taling Ngam because I liked it so much at Brigitte´s and Werner´s house. But in the meantime, I have settled in very well in the compound and love to play the "jumping up game": several dogs jump up on a human visitor at the same time. Great game!

Unfortunately Carina has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Heike and Hilmar from Krefeld in Germany were looking after Carina. Thank you very much!

NANNI (female)

I was living on Chaweng-Noi Beach and became friends with Kirsten and René. They wanted to help me by paying for my sterilization (which they did). This saved my life, because I was already pregnant and on Chaweng-Noi-Beach, dogs with puppies normally do not have a chance to survive. I had only been pregnant for a short time and therefore Dr. Somsak was not able to notice my pregnancy. He does not normally carry out any abortions! The sterilization surely would have helped, but since on Chaweng-Noi-Beach dogs get poisoned all the time or disappear overnight, Kirsten and Rene managed to convince Brigitte to accept me in the DRCS. The food is excellent, however, I do miss the beach a little bit.

Unfortunately Nanni has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Thorsten from Erlangen in Germany was looking after Nanni. Thank you very much!

MAYLIN (female)

I was brought by Sabine and Marcus to the DRCS since they found me on the street with bad mange. Moreover, I had a lot of old bite wounds which is a sign that my life had been quite hard. I stayed at Brigitte's and Werner's house where the mange was treated. Meanwhile, I look really good. I settled in well at the house and I am allowed to stay here because I get along with all the others so well. I like it a lot here since there are many visitors who cuddle me. I love that!

Unfortunately Maylin has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Sabine and Marcus from Germany were looking after Maylin. Thank you very much!

SUAI SAHM (male)

I was brought in as a puppy as I had been abandoned on the streets of Maenam. I was too young to be on my own. Immediately, everyone at the shelter fell in love with me as I was (and still am) so handsome. I was very week so all the helpers and volunteers took it in turns to feed me every three hours and to care for me. As a result, I survived and I love it here.

Unfortunately Suai Sahm has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Christine from Bottmingen in Switzerland was looking after Suai Sahm. Thank you very much!

BOMBLE

Unfortunately Bomble has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Sue and Andy from England were looking after Bomble. Thank you very much!

JACKY (female)

Unfortunately Jacky has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Ruth from Berlin in Germany was looking after Jacky. Thank you very much!

ASTERIX (male)

Some animal loving tourists found me in front of the police station in Chaweng. They had never heard of the DRCS, that's why they brought me to the Animal Clinic. There, I was treated against the fungus and the doctor told the tourists about the shelter. The tourists brought me to Brigitte's house immediately. Here, the treatment was continued and they washed me with some stinking liquid three times a week. But it worked! After 2 months already I had my fur back and I did not have to scratch myself anymore. I like it a lot at the shelter, since there is plenty of food and water and many pals to play with.

Unfortunately Asterix has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Annette from Landau in Germany was looking after Asterix. Thank you very much!

JOSEF (male)

I was living near Hua Thanon and was happily running around there with all the other dogs. However, some human decided there were too many dogs and suddenly all sources of food tasted strange and lots of my doggie friends died - the nasty man was trying to poison us all. Brigitte at DRCS heard about this and rushed down to save me and the only other dog that was left. That dog died too but I didn't. I survived. I now live at the big shelter in Ban Taling Ngam and I really like it here. I jump all over any visitors we get which is good fun. I like it when we get volunteers in who brush me.

Unfortunately Josef has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the shelter, Angelica from Sweden was looking after Josef. Thank you very much!

GESCHE (female)

I have been living at the big shelter in Ban Taling Ngam for quite some time. I was happily eating lots of food, drinking lots of water and running around with the other dogs. However, one day along came Petra, a new volunteer with a camera and a mission in mind. Every dog in the shelter was separated, photographed and identified. We felt like criminals in a line-up parade! It came to light that nobody knew my name, where I came from or how long I’d been there! Now I’ve been given a new name and l am hoping for a new sponsor.

Unfortunately Gesche has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Christine and Rafael from Augsburg in Germany were looking after Gesche. Thank you very much!

TONIO (male)

I was wandering around as a stray for a long time until I found the beautiful temple Wat Plai Laem. At the time there was a big market there and a lot of garbage and leftovers to eat. When the market was discontinued, I got into fights with the local strays who had been there for a long time. They said it was their territory and that I should go somewhere else to look for food. The fight for the food wasn’t that bad because John, a helper at dog rescue, showed up the next morning with a big bag of dried food. He has been looking after the dogs and cats at this temple for quite a while. I was very happy to meet him because he made sure that I got to the big shelter at Ban Taling Ngam immediately. He saved my life because of that action as I didn’t have one gram of spare fat on me and quite a few wounds which were badly infected. I now live at the shelter and enjoy the peace of it all.

Unfortunately Tonio has died. We all miss him very much!

During the time at the DRCS,  Stephanie  from Switzerland were looking after her. Thank you very much!

WALDA (female)

Vielen Dank!

INKA (female)

I was brought in by tourists from Lamai because of my coat - I had mange. I was taken down to the big shelter where I now hang out with a load of other dogs who just want to play all day long. Between that and the constant supply of food and water, life doesn't get much better.

Unfortunately Inka has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the shelter, Viktoria and Matthias from Koblenz in Germany were looking after Inka. Thank you very much!

NATHON SONG (female)

Unfortunately Nathon Song has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS,  Alexandra from Munich in Germany  were looking after her. Thank you very much!

DODO (male)

I was brought to the shelter because I couldn't walk. Brigitte suspected that someone had hit on my back and therefore, I was paralyzed. Fortunately, only a nerve was wedged in. And after the tissue around had went down the pain eased and I was able to walk a few steps. That was quite difficult at the beginning. One of the other dogs took this as an invitation to bite my behind. At first nobody recognized this but after a while it became a big whole which was treated. In the meantime, it has healed completely. The good thing about this is that Brigitte took me to her house because of the wound. And here I am still. I like it here a lot and nobody bites my bottom.

Unfortunately Dodo has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS,  Karin from Riedtwil in Switzerland  were looking after her. Thank you very much!

TESCO (male)

After Birgit from Cologne has seen me on the parking lot of the big shopping mall, she immediately informed the DRCS. The helpers came with a motorbike with sidecar, and since I had a few bad experiences with Thai people I ran away. But also Werner, a "farang", was there. I liked him right away and it was no problem for him to push me into the cage. I was brought to Chaweng where I was examined. One of my paws I cannot use anymore after an accident that was long ago. Moreover, I am blind on one eye and my body is full of scars. As I have always been wild and aggressive I couse a lot of trouble on the yard in Chaweng. I ALWAYS want to be first in the row when it comes to food or cuddles. I am willing to fight for that. Since we don´t have to fight for survival here, fights are not that bad. Often I just play with the others who can bark longer.

Unfortunately Tesco has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS,  Birgit from Köln in Germany  were looking after her. Thank you very much!

MAUS (female)

I was born on Chaweng Beach. Poem - the DRCS helper who unfortunately had a lethal accident not long ago - had built a shelter on a secluded part of the beach for my mother and myself last year in November, so that we could get away from the rain in the rainy season. Danny from 'Divepoint' had been feeding us every day for the last two years. But my mother bit a small Pekinese and the Thai owner shot my Mother soon afterwards. It was utterly frightening for me to watch my mother die! He threatened to also shoot me. Since it was far too dangerous for me to stay there, Danny took my to the DRCS. I am now staying on Brigitte's and Werner's terrace, but I still miss playing on the beach with my mother.

Unfortunately Maus has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS Vanessa from Greifenstein in Germany were looking after her. Thank you very much!

GOLDIE (female)

I was strolling around the yard in front of Brigitte's and Werner's house when they found out that I don't belong here. The neighbours also have a lot of dogs that weren't very friendly to me. They all jumped on me and tried to bite me. The females were very evil! The neighbours thought that I had run away from Brigitte. But there nobody had missed me. Since I was old enough to be sterilized I was brought to Ban Taling Ngam. After that I was brought to a big compound since I couldn't go back to the neighbour's dogs. Normally the dogs are brought back after one week after the neutering. But I didn't tell them where I came from since there is plenty of food and many pals to play with!

Unfortunately Goldie has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS,  Kerstin from Rockenhausen in Germany were looking after her. Thank you very much!

LUNA (female)

I was brought into the shelter by some tourists as I was underweight and they didn't think I would survive - the rubbish bins near where I stayed were not of a good quality and there wasn't enough food for me to scavenge. I stayed at Brigitte's house for months and months and, when Brigitte felt I was big and strong enough, I was moved to the big shelter at Ban Taling Ngam. I now live in lovely compound with banana trees and I have 15 doggie friends to play with. When humans come and visit, it is my duty to make sure they are doing a good job so I have to inspect their de-ticking and de-fleaing abilities.

Unfortunately Luna has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS, Lily from Switzerland were looking after her. Thank you very much!

NENI SONG (male)

Unfortunately Neni Song has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS,  Joan from Australia  were looking after her. Thank you very much!

STRUBBEL (male)

I ran around the market in Nathon and caused a lot of trouble. I spurred on the other dogs and we ran around in a circle and knocked down people and fruit baskets. One day the stand owner No. 1 had enough and called Brigitte. The next day Sakda and Don turned up with the complete dog catching equipment. I made them run around a lot for their money! What a great fun! Then they caught me. Buh! I live in the shelter now and found another group of dogs I can spur on. We have a lot of fun.

Unfortunately Strubbel has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS, Anna from Finland were looking after her. Thank you very much!

GIZMO (male)

I was having a good time romping around a school playground and chasing the children there. The children thought it was a good game but, unfortunately, the parents and teachers didn't agree. They said I was too big to play with small children but I wasn't hurting anyone. So I was brought to the shelter and I now romp around with my doggy friends which is great fun.

Unfortunately Gizmo has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS,  Erik from Sweden were looking after her. Thank you very much!

HINJA (female)

I was strolling around Lamai close to the big rocks. The people call the rocks HinTa and HinJai. That's where I got my name from. At that time I was in a very bad condition and wouldn't have survived without help. But that is sooo long ago - I can hardly remember my time on the streets. I have lived at the shelter since 2002, I am one of the first! When I was admitted to DRCS there the shelter in Ban Taling Ngam didn't exist. That was only opened in April 2003. Since no one showed any interest in me, I will probably stay in the shelter for the rest of my life. There are worse things than that. I don't really know if I could get along on my own after so many years at the DRCS.

Unfortunately Hinja has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS,  Alexandra from Sweden were looking after her. Thank you very much!

HARDY  (male)

Don't I look adorable? Some tourists picked me up in Lamai but only after I let them chase me around the beach for an hour or so. They were exhausted but I had a good time. As you will see, at first I was missing some of my fur coat, hence the reason for my visit here at the shelter. I was given special medicine and how my hair has grown back. My post here at the shelter is to protect Brigitte's door. I am on full alert at all times!

Unfortunately Hardy has died. We all miss her very much!

During the time at the DRCS,  Johanna from the Netherlands were looking after her. Thank you very much!
