JANET (female)

I was lucky that the lovely Janet (thanks for the smashing name by the way) and Keith from England saw me walking helplessly along the road close to their home. After I was attacked (I hope you understand that I don't want to get into details about it), I was left with this really nasty wound on my neck. The pain was terrible and it got so bad that I couldn't even eat anymore. After Janet and Keith reported me to the long term volunteers of the DRCS, I was caught in with no time and the recovery could begin. Since I have no owner and nobody really knows where I come from, I got the permission to stay at the DRCS and perhaps I'm even lucky enough to find an owner one day.

I was very lucky and found a new home in Europe.

During my time at the shelter, Sue and Luke from England were looking after me. Thank you very much!

FLÖCKCHEN (female)

I used to have a really nice family and a pretty lovely home until the monsoon rains started. In with a few days all of it was under water and my family had no choice but looking for a new place to live. Unfortunately there was no place for me and I was left behind. After some days the neighbors brought me to the DRCS where I got a new chance of life and as it turned out a new family with a lot of playmates and some really lovely food. Yeah, I found a new home here on the Koh Samui:-)

While I was living in the shelter,Christel and Joachim from Weisenheim a.Sand in Germany were looking after me. Thank you very much!

Miss PUSHY (female), Temple: Wat Sietavib

Anne from Kauniainen in Finland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

We started the Temple Project in 2007 and it has proven to be a big success. Hundreds of dogs and cats in the temples around Samui have been treated without being removed from their familiar environment. No-one really could have predicted just how big this project would become, or how expensive, we currently deliver over 1000kgs of dry food a month, not to mention the costs of the medicines and vaccines we require to ensure everyone stays healthy. We (DRCS) are already suffering financially just to cover the everyday costs of running the shelter, so the additional money needed for the temple project is giving us cause for concern. You can help us keep this important project alive by sponsoring one of our many resident temple dogs. With your help, we can help, by keeping them healthy, happy and safe. With your help they won’t have to rummage the garbage for food or fear for their lives on the street, they can live within the safety of the temples and be checked and well provided for by our dedicated project team every week.

SINA (female)

As I've always been a pretty independent cat, I know decided to live my life on my own paws again. During my time at the shelter, Ulrike from Magdeburg in Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much.
BRUMMEL (male)

I came to Dog Rescue after being hit by a car. It was pretty serious, I couldn’t walk and I couldn’t see. I was put in a nice room and was on an I.V. drip for what seemed like a very long time. I wasn’t grateful at the time and wouldn’t let them touch me but they didn’t give up. I got physiotherapy for my legs and today I can walk again! I almost lost the sight in one eye but recovered quite well. Now things are good and I’m pretty happy at the shelter.

Great news: I found a new home on Koh Samui!

While I was staying at the DRCS, Amanda and Georg from Switzerland were looking after me. Thank you very much!

ABBY (female)

Katharina from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

DOGGIE (female)

Susanne from Klosterneuburg in Austria is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

I used to live at the Solo Bar in Chaweng but I didn't like it there. Annsofi, a tourist from Sweden, visited the bar one day and realized that I wasn't well. She called Brigitte who picked me up and brought me to the vet for treatment. After that, I was brought back to the bar. Since Annsofi wanted me to come to Sweden the helpers of the DRCS picked me up once more. Unfortunately, I cannot go to Sweden, since I would have to be in quarantine for a very long time and Annsofi was worried about me handling the transport. But I live at the shelter in Ban Taling Ngam now in one of the most beautiful compounds. I like it here a lot as there is plenty of food and fresh water and a lot of doggie friends to play with.

BAMBINO (female)

Ciao, I am Bambino! I’m not 100% sure but I think I’ve got Italian blood running through my veins. If I remember correctly, the people who brought me to the DRCS were Italians. Unfortunately they couldn’t keep me since they weren’t allowed to have animals inside their bungalow. Thankfully they showed a huge sense of responsibility and got me vaccinated before they brought me to the shelter. ‘Molto Bene’ right!? Now I live at the puppy house and hope that someone will fall in love with me and adopt me….

I was very lucky and found a new home in Europe.

During my time at the shelter, SNadine from Hamburg in Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much!

AJAX (female)

Melli and Rudi from Ebsdorfergrund in Germany are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

I didn't look very well when I first came to the DRCS. I never really had a home and didn't feel comfortable on the street. I was just never one of those dogs who could walk confidently up and down the main road looking for food and stopping for a cuddle with the tourists. I was scared of people and never found enough food to make my belly stop rumbling. Thankfully I was allowed to stay at the DRCS after my treatment was finished. I think they knew that I'm no good living on the street. I have found many friends here and enjoy a great meal every single day. What a life!

BARKLEY (female)

Thomas from Zürich in Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!
