FEIDJI (male)

The lovely Marney found me on the beach, I was skinny, hungry and had all kind of health problems which needed to be treated. Thankfully Marney brought me to the DRCS where I have already found many friends. Instead of going back to where I come from, the DRCS-people are trying to find a home for me in Germany. Let's hope I'll be lucky!

Wilmi, Evi and Ralf from Bernau in Germany are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

MONET (female)

I used to live in Chaweng, the busiest tourist place on the island. When I then got puppies and they all started walking behind me on the roads, I was brought to the DRCS. Unfortunately my babies didn’t survive and I got quite sick at the centre since I never had any vaccination before. Thankfully the team gave their best to get me back on track and I was allowed to stay in the puppy house where I recovered fast and well. When the DRCS brought me back to my old home, I was poisoned just a few days later. Thankfully I survived but they made it clear, that I was no longer welcomed there. That’s why I now stay at the DRCS-shelter and even though they tried to put me in another compound (with bigger dogs), I decided to climb my way back to the puppy house….and that’s where I will stay.

Marion from Hanau in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

CALISTO (male)

I was very thankful when one of the DRCS helpers took me with him to the shelter one morning. The constant abuse from my owner finally had come to an end and I got the chance of a new life. I'm still very young but have gone through a lot already. All I wish for is a good home without people who get plesure in hurting animals. I'm happy to be here at the shelter and with a bit of luck, I will find my own family one day.

Sue and Luke from England are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

TIFFANY (female)

I am so happy with my look now! I guess when you check out the picture of when I first arrived you understand what I'm saying. I don't like to think back and always pretend now not to know what was going on before I came to the DRCS. I am here now and even sleep in Brigitte and Werners bed. Even though I have only one eye left, I'm probably one of the happiest little dogs alive.

Elka from Altlussheim in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

LORA (female)

Some lovely tourist from Denmark picked me up and brought me to the DRCS. I first thought he was going to be my new owner and got really excited. Once I saw all those other dogs at the shelter, I wasn't so happy anymore. Meanwhile I settled in very well, received all the necessary treatment and getting stronger every day. I have a lovely Richback and hope that soon someone will give me a home.

Angela from Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

LING LEK (female)

I was brought to the DRCS by my owner since he had to go back home somewhere in Europe for 4 weeks. When he came back and wanted to pick me up, I bit him. I had gotten used to living in the cat house and did not want to return home with him. He then left without me. The next day, he came back and I ran away. They corned me and I started hissing and made him understand that I would not leave this place. He must have understood me because he started to have a look at the other cats. There were many that ran around his legs and wanted to be cuddled by him. He left with a red and white cat. Of course, she is not as fat and blue eyed as I am. I feel extremely well in the cat house and meanwhile I even gained a little more weight. Since my ex owner has a new cat now, he of course doesn't pay for me anymore. A few weeks ago a new helper started working at the DRCS. He fell in love with me immediately. At first, I was a little bit shy, but after a while I started liking him a lot. Therefore, I went home with him. I do not need a sponsor anymore.
SHERRY (female)

I was brought in by a nice Thai lady who lives in the north of the island. Although she liked me very much, her neighbour didn't and he had tried to poison me twice. So, to protect me, my owner brought me to the shelter where I now live. Because I am so handsome, all the human visitors come and speak to me and I let them pat and stroke me.

After a while it was too boring for me at the shelter and I ran away.

While I was living at the DRCS, Catherine from Calgary in Canada was looking after me. Thank you very much!

HUGO (male)

I was brought in because I was a mangy little puppy. Here, they give me special medicine every week and my hair has started to grow back. When I'm old enough, Brigitte mutters something about a special operation and the word 'snip' is mentioned. What does she mean? I'm safe now that I'm at the shelter, I don't scratch and scratch all day long and there is plenty of food. Long may this continue.

After a while I found it too boring in the shelter and I decided to run away.

While I was living at the shelter, Sabine from Zurich in Switzerland was looking after me. Thank you very much!

LUMPI (male)

I'm in a bit of a mess. I was hanging around the market at Nathon and made friends with a lovely Thai stallholder who started to feed me. As soon as I wasn't looking she caught me and brought me to the shelter where I'm now being treated for my mange. I look forward to becoming handsome again.

After a while I found it too boring at the shelter and I decided to take my life in my own paws.

While I was living at the DRCS, Regine and Gerald from Vienna in Austria were looking after me. Thank you very much!

LONGI (female)

I was brought to the shelter by a tourist who was worried about me and my road-crossing skills. She said I wasn't fit to cross the road on my own as I don't look left and right when crossing, I just march across. As a result, I had several near misses and my tourist chum couldn't handle this. So, I was brought to the shelter where it's OK. The food is good and I get to tease the volunteers when they want to check me - I let them get within a half metre of me then I run off and they have to chase me. Good game!

ZIGGI (male)

I was brought in from Big Buddha Beach. I was playing in the water with one of the tourists and, when I came out, she was worried as I had so little fur. This is because of mange. My tourist friend brought me down to the shelter where I'll stay for a while until the mange has been cured then, hopefully, it's back to playing on the beach near Big Buddha. After a while I was strong enough for the beach life again and was brought back. Of course, I am very happy to be back at my old place.

While I was living at the shelter, Petra from Birmensdorf in Switzerland was looking after me. Thank you very much!

TSCHABA (female)

I was brought in by one of the helpers at the shelter. I had been wandering around the market but my skin was in a bad condition and my hair was falling out. I am now being treated properly and my hair is growing back, albeit slowly. It's better at the shelter as I don't have to fight for food.

Heleen from Amsterdam in The Netherlands is now looking after me. Thank you very much.

LUISE (female)

I came to the DRCS because of many reasons. I was sick (I believe it was a pretty nasty cold), I had mange and had to be neutered. Once they took care of all that, I was brought back to my old place close to the DRCS in Chaweng. But since I’ve always been a wonderer, I decided to come back and get a peace of the delicious daily lunch here at the DRCS. I don’t want to be locked up inside but I love sticking around and even got a little house to sleep in outside the gate. What more do I want?

I was very lucky and found a new home on Koh Samui.

During my time at the shelter, Tasia from Melbourne in Australia was looking after me. Thank you very much!

BUBU (female)

I was very lucky and found a new home on Koh Samui.

During my time at the shelter, Francesca from Italy was looking after me. Thank you very much!
