MAEO (female)

My owner brought me to the shelter as I had been poisoned (his neighbours didn't like me). I was brought just in time and Dr Joe gave me three special medicines to counteract the poison. After a few days I was fine but my owner never came back to collect me. However, maybe that was my destiny as I was really needed here at the shelter: one of the cats who had just had kittens (Herzilein) ran away so I moved into her basket and looked after the kittens. I tried to feed them but couldn't as I had had an operation to stop me having babies about two weeks before. Other motherless kittens continued to arrive at the shelter so I make sure I have several of them in my basket at night so I can keep them warm and clean. The second picture on the left is of me and Mameau as we both look after her kittens. It's nice that Mameau lets me help in this way as I like kittens. After a while I decided to take care of myself again. Taking care of all the babies was just too much for me. I ran away and am now enjoying my freedom!

Dorothee and Klaus from Nufringen in Germany were looking after me while I was at the shelter. Thank you very much!

PRINCESSE (weiblich)

Vielen Dank!

CELINE (female)

Celine and I were both dumped outside the shelter at the same time. We don't have the same mother but come from the same little village where they have a lot of stray dogs and got rid of many little ones recently. Many of them just disappeared and for some strange reason we two were simply abandoned. Thankfully the Dog Rescue-TempelTeam is now working in this very village, getting all the dogs vaccinated and eventually sterilized, which is great. Thanks to them the village people have changed their attitude towards all the dogs too and are a lot nicer now. We are doing well here and still hope that we get adopted one day...

Bliss and Ben from Sydney in Australia are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

MAYA (female)

My name is Maya, born in the beginning of 2015 and I have been here at the shelter since I was a very small puppy. Together with almost 10 of my very close playmates I have just recently been moved out of the puppy house and into a much bigger outside compound at the Dog Rescue. We all haven't had an easy time and know nothing more than this shelter. I guess it's a good thing so we don't know what we are missing. Still though, sometimes i wish i had my own family. We are all doing well and hope that someone is willing to support us... :-)

Anja from Kelsterbach in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

TONG (female)

Tasha, Tabby, Jelina and I all lived at the same place – a pretty quiet jungle place with only a few houses around and were doing just fine there. We got a lot of food leftovers from the village people in the area and (apart from me who just doesn’t like to be near people) we got a lot of human touch as well. Until one day they built some really fancy villas nearby and these people were prepared to pay a lot of money that we 3 dogs would disappear. Thankfully the Dog Rescue saved our lives and gave us a home. We are doing well here and have settled in just fine.

Dina and Alain from Eglisau in Switzerland are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

STICKY (male)

I came into the shelter as a tourist thought I had been in a car accident. However, the vet said that the damage to my back right leg was a typical one inflicted on dogs like me who chase chickens. Apart from the fact that my back leg dangles, I am fit and healthy although that could be due to the amount of chickens I have been eating. I may have a broken back leg but I can still jump high walls so I escaped from the shelter.

Thank you to Daniela from Boppard in Germany for looking after me while I was in the shelter.

JAMES (male)

I was born in Lamai and had been dumped as a puppy near some of the bars there. I was picked up by two tourists (Ross and Miki from Japan) as I was running about among the traffic. They can't take me home to Japan as they already have another four dogs who might eat me! So, I was brought to the Shelter and they are my sponsors. I like it here as I play with all the other dogs, particularly Hocky and Cleo.

Good luck for me as I've found a real home on the island. I'll miss the other doggies but now I have humans of my own.

Thank you Ross and Miki for saving me and being my godparents while I was staying with Brigitte.
