ROGER SONG (male)

I came to Dog Rescue after being hit by a car. It was pretty serious, I couldn’t walk and I couldn’t see. I was put in a nice room and was on an I.V. drip for what seemed like a very long time. I wasn’t grateful at the time and wouldn’t let them touch me but they didn’t give up. I got physiotherapy for my legs and today I can walk again! I almost lost the sight in one eye but recovered quite well. Now things are good and I’m pretty happy at the shelter.

Anita from Zirl in Austria is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

GRUMPY (male)

I had to stay in a single box for a long time because my back legs were paralyzed due to an accident on the street. I could be rehabilitated so I can walk again. However it looks funny when I walk because I stagger around, but my friends don't mind. I even like to play with them again.

Sabina and Mike from Steinmaur in Switzerland are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

TABBY (female)

Tasha, Tong, Jelina and I all lived at the same place – a pretty quiet jungle place with only a few houses around and were doing just fine there. We got a lot of food leftovers from the village people in the area and (apart from Tong who just doesn’t like to be near people) we got a lot of human touch as well. Until one day they built some really fancy villas nearby and these people were prepared to pay a lot of money that we 3 dogs would disappear. Thankfully the Dog Rescue saved our lives and gave us a home. We are doing well here and have settled in just fine.

Andrea from Rapperswil in Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

YUKI (female)

Tiger and I were actually supposed to fly to Switzerland but our so called future owners have changed their minds and so we’re still sitting here at the Dog Rescue Center. We still have hope that we one day find our own family. At least we are together in the same compound and have learned to deal with the situation…

Claudi from the Lüneburger Heide in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

MIRKO (male)

Wallis, Mirko and myself all got to the shelter when we were very little. As tiny woundable puppies we were dropped at the shelter and then went to foster people (which was super fun) until we were fully vaccinated. Unfortunately nobody has been interested in adopting us and so now was the time for us to move out of the puppy house and move into one of the big outside compounds at the shelter. What we all feared turned out to really cool and we just love the big space to run and play around. All is good and we have settled here.

Liz and Steve from England are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

BONO (male)

My cat-friends Bonita and Sasha and I were living together with many other cats at a lovely beach resort. It was a place where we met plenty of tourists and getting food was never a problem. We are both still very young and look attractive (so we think) and enjoyed the free life on the beach. One day some of the staff people came and put all of us in a cage. Many of the other cats I have never seen again. My two dear friends Bonita and Sasha and I landed up at the DRCS where it has actually been quite pleasant. The food is great and we are even allowed to sleep in a proper bed. All is good again!

I was very lucky and found a new home on Koh Samui.

During my time at the shelter, Daniela from Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much!

PICO (male)

Mary and I have both been threatened to be poisoned if we would ever appear there again. We actually thought that we had quite a good life there and that people like us. Maybe we were wrong, or maybe it was just one individual who wanted us away. So or so, we are now both at the Dog Rescue Center and have settled in very well. I've gone to the big shelter, while Mary prefers to stay in Chaweng outside Brigittes house and play with the other youngsters.

Kate and Rob from Australia are now looking after me. Thank you very much for your support!

SANYA (female)

I´ve been in the animal shelter for a few month and started to settle down.
After i whave been brought here, i moved in the house beside Brigtitte und Werner and
i was even allowed to sleep in the same bad as the nice Volunteer.
When i got better and i was strong enough for the big animal shelter, i had to leave my sweet home.
Despite everyting i am healthy, exapt the mange.

Patricia from Tirol in Austria is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

CRUSH (male)

Unfortunately, nobody knows how i got to DRCS. I was found hurt in front of the animal shelter door.
I had to undergo an emergency surgery. I cant remember any violence but rather the nice DRCS-Persons who helped me.

Gabi from Ternitz in Austria is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

STRUPPI (male)

Me and my brother Lovely were living at a very nice resort right on the sea for many years and had a great life! Like everyone else too, we got older and both reached the point where we are no longer able to run around the beach and make sure that no younger dog steals our place. The body aches and the teeth are falling out and even getting up to look for food has become a huge effort. When the hotel manager changed, people were no longer allowed to feed us so things got really hard. That’s why we gave in and decided to retire at the DRCS.

Good news: I found a new home on Samui.

While I was living in the shelter, Katrin from Munich in Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much.

MISTY (female)

After some time at the shelter I got bored and decided to take my life in my own paws again and ran away.

While I was living at the shelter, Isa from Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much.

SIDA (female)

I was wandering along Maenam Beach when an animal friend felt sorry for me and took me to the DRCS. I am still very skinny and my left hind paw hasn't healed properly after it had been broken. But I am not dragging it along the ground and it isn't sore and so I am lucky that I can keep my paw.
Who wants to take care of me? Marcus and Eva took me to Germany and there they have found a very nice new home for me.

Pippa and Tom from the U.K. adopted me at my time in the shelter. Many thanks!

MIKKA (male)

I did not stay at the DRCS for a long time since I have already found a new home on Koh Samui.

While I was living at the shelter, Daniela and Claus from Vienna in Austria were looking after me. Thank you very much!

DIANA (female)

The dogs on Lamai Beach did not like me at all and always drove me away. I had to run only through the water to avoid getting bitten. Tourists watched it for some days and worried that I would starve or drown. Of course, there was a high risk that I would be attacked by a whole pack, but I didn't know where to go. The tourists took me to the DRCS and at that time, I was only three months old. I did not look for fights and the other dogs did not bite me.

I still love to take a bath and here there is a great bathtub where I swim some rounds every day. Who wants to take care of me?

Eva and Marcus from Werne will take care of me. Thank you very much!
