RHEA (female)

Actually there is no good reason why my sister Madina and I should be at this Rescue Center. We af8xxxxxxxxxre healthy and happy and loved our freedom. I guess the people where we stayed just wanted to get rid of us and then contacted the DRCS. Of course the DRCS refused to take us in (as there is no reason for us to go to the shelter) and so we were just dumped outside the main gate of the shelter. Nobody knows where we come from and we do not know the way back home. I guess we have no chance now but try and get settled.

Annamaria from Milano in Italie is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

CARLA (female)

We (7 of us) are the latest family addition to the Dog Rescue Centre. We all have been dumped in a carton box outside the big shelter when we were only 8 weeks old. Thankfully we got a good foster home until we were fully vaccinated so that when we got to the shelter, we were strong and protected enough to not get sick straight away. We are growing up fast and very soon we will be moved from the puppy house into one of the bigger outside compounds. Even though we are a little scared of how that will  turn out, we are looking forward to having a little more space and to finally be able to run around properly.

Kate and Rob are now looking after me. Thank you so very much!

ANDRINA (female)

I have been at the shelter for a few years now but for some reason never got officially registered. I have been taken care for but slipped through the system :-) Thankfully they have figured it out now, I got an official name and hopefully someone who wants to support me. I'm a lovely young dog and like the play the clown.

Alexandra from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

LENA (female)

Limona, Archi and I came all on the same day to the shelter. We were of course unvaccinated and quite week. Thankfully we recovered fast and enjoyed the huge amount of delious food we received every day. Today we are over the hill and live in the house of Brigitte and Werner. Our hightlight of the day is the nightly fishparty...so much fun!!

Good news: I found a new home on Samui. While I was living in the shelter, Andrea from Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much.

REMO (male)

My name is Remo and I'm one of the so called 'Garden Centre-dogs'. It's very unfortunate and sad that I have to get used to a totally new environment - and this at my age! We (almost 10 of us) used to live at a very big garden centre here on Samui and had a great and loving home. One dark day our owner found herself in some pretty serious trouble because of us and she had to immediately find a solution. Of course she couldn't find a home for any of us and so there was no other place for us to go but the Dog Rescue Centre. We are all trying our best to settle in and make our peace with the whole situation...

Kim and Emma are now looking after me. Thank you so very much!

PIRAT (male)

Thankfully I have found a great place here at the Dog Rescue where people don't care that i have lost already one eye and I'm almost blind on the second eye. I can live inside the house with Brigitte and Werner and my eye is getting cleaned every day and i can even sleep in the bed. All is good now and i don't even want to think about my past anymore.

I was very lucky and found a new home in the USA.

During my time at the shelter Jackie, Jennifer, Margaret, Shannon and Stacey from Chapel Hill in North Carolina were looking after me. Than you very much!

SALLY(female)

I was dropped at the shelter when I was a little mangy puppy and have recovered very quickly. I love it here and have always been a very happy and funny character. I now live with many other young dogs at the shelte rin Baan Taling Ngam, thankfully right next to the main gate so there is always a lot to see and lots of action all around.

Tatjana from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

SHAYNA (female)

As a tiny little mangy puppy I was brought to the Dog Rescue. Unfortunately I am still struggling with this skin problem but hopefully with the right medication it will soon get better. I have just been moved (thankfully not alone) from the puppy house to one of the big outside compounds. It's super scary to be surrounded by all those huge dogs all of a sudden. Even though they don't seem to care much about us newcomers, I'm totally frightened and hope that will soon change....

Yvonne from Hennef in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

BOBBIE (male)

I might be very small but I definitely have the biggest mouth from us all! I live in the house from Brigitte and Werner and even sleep on the bed. I check out every single person who enters this house first and I also have the other house-dogs (and cats by the way) fairly well under control. Since I’m one of Brigitte’s favorite, my space in this house is reserved until the end of my days. I only need a sponsor now!

Sylvia from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

MARINA (female)

I basically grew up at the Puppy House at the big shelter in Baan Taling Ngam. I was dumped when I was a little baby and the people in charge for the puppy house nursed me until I was fully vaccinated and healthy enough to go to the shelter. Now I'm almost two years old and live in a slightly bigger outside compound together with many other young dogs. Things are good and life is alright...even though I cannot deny that I sometimes dream of having my own family...

Sylvia from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

PIA (female)

I've already been at the shelter for 2 years and have still not found anybody who wants to sponsor me. Of course I'm not completely sure if it's because I'm not very likable or because the Dog Rescue people haven't really introduced me properly to the animal friends out there. Thankfully I'm getting food even without being sponsored by someone and they told me that I could stay at the shelter. However, I would absolutely love to have someone who wants to sponsor me....

Sylvia from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

BIGGY (female)

I'm an already pretty old lady and will (hopefully) be spending my last few years here at the shelter just relaxing and enjoying my peace and quiet. Well actually, it's not really peaceful nor quiet here. I live in an outside compound with a lot of young dogs. They do one silly thing after the other and can never sit still. I prefer to chill and sleep and only interfere when absolutely necessary. At least it never gets boring here.

Sylvia from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

FRANCI (female)

I was tied to the doors of the Dog Rescue, simply abandoned and unwanted. My lovely owners put me in the car one morning and an hour later I found myself alone and unable to move outside the Dog and Cat Rescue. Thankfully the DRCS-pople were really lovely, took me in and gave me a nice meal and finally some water. It didn't take long for me to feel at home here...

Sylvia from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

YULKA (female)

My name is Yulka, born in the late summer of 2014 and I have been here at the shelter since I was a very small puppy. Together with almost 10 of my very close playmates I have just recently been moved out of the puppy house and into a much bigger outside compound at the Dog Rescue. We all haven't had an easy time and know nothing more than this shelter. I guess it's a good thing so we don't know what we are missing. Still though, sometimes i wish i had my own family. We are all doing well and hope that someone is willing to support us... :-)

FLYNN (female)

Nobody really knows where we came from. One day when the DRCS-people checked all the dogs in the compound, they found out that Mozart, Chello and myself weren't registered. I don’t really care much about our history, where I came from and why I’m here. I like being here and have no plan of going anywhere else any time soon.

Mel from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

MO (female)

Thank you Anna and Kate for bringing me into the Dog Rescue. I was getting too old for the streets and happy now that I can live in a safe environment for the rest of my old days.....

Anna and Kate are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

SONG (female)

Originally my owner seriously promised me to pick me up again once I would get better. ‘As soon as your fur has grown back, we will come and take you back home’ – so they said. Now I was told by the DRCS-people that my owners don’t want me anymore! What am I going to do now? I have to admit though, the food and the playmates are pretty cool here and maybe if I try really hard, I could get used to this place. But one thing is for sure: I will never understand how they could do this to me

Anneli from Finland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

CASTLE (female)

All the cats in the cat room were checked and it turned out that everyone had been mixing me and Grouchy up, thinking we were the same cats. I think I should have been called 'Mai roo' (that's Thai for 'I don't know') as that's what everyone said when she asked how they could have mixed me and Grouchy up! It turns out that I've to have an operation to stop me making babies with that sexy babe Grouchy. Pity!

Alison from Dubai is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

LILA (female)

I have been waiting for my owner to come back to get me for several months now and start to believe, that this will never happen. I think they just wanted to get rid of me. I am a really lovely dog and has never done anything wrong, why don't they want me anymore? Anyway, I give me best to get used to my new environment and be friendly with all those other dogs. Things are actually quite ok here...

Christoph from Brittnau in Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

TULA (female)

My sisters Tara and Sacky and I were dumped at the DRCS when we were just about 3 months old. Thankfully we could stay at the shelter in Chaweng and were fit enough to be vaccinated straight away. After the second vaccine the DRCS-Team decided to give us a chance of a free life and let us outside the gate where we could have had access to food and water too. However, we decided otherwise and went straight back. It wasn’t a nice place in the beginning but we got used to it and found some friends here too. And who knows, maybe someone will adopt us and give us a real home one day.

Britta from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

WINAT  (female)

Many people wonder what a beautiful little dog like myself does at the shelter. Well, after I was abandoned by my old owners who also treated me pretty badly, I didn't like people anymore. At the shelter I learned again how nice it can be to feel love and to be touched by someone. Besides the human friends, I have also found doggy friends here

I have found a great new home in Germany! Thank you to Christine from Germany for taking care of me while I was at the shelter!

DICK (male)

I was living in the north of Chaweng and was very happy running around with my best friend. However, I got involved in a fight with a much bigger dog and he won! I had a big wound in the back of my head and was in much pain. The people round about ignored me until I met Michelle from Blue Planet Diving School. She made friends with me and brought me to the shelter. My wound was cleaned up and I'm starting to look much better.

At the moment, I do not need a sponsor as I have left the shelter - someone left the gate open and I legged it. I've moved back to my previous patch in North Chaweng and Michelle at Blue Planet Diving School is keeping an eye on me.

ROSA 2 (female)

Nobody knows where I came from. None of the staff remembers collecting me from anywhere and no-one remembers anyone bringing me to the shelter. However, here I am and it's almost perfect. I live in the cat hotel here so I can stay inside or go outside to play. The only cloud on the horizon is that I will have to get an operation to stop me having babies.

After a big storm a palm leaf damaged the fence of the cathouse and Rosa Song run away with a few other cats. During the time at the shelter, Hannelore from Hamburg in Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much.

LORD (male)

I came into the shelter as my owner didn't want me any more. Something happened to my eyes and I could not see. Because I was not perfect, my owner didn't want me. My eyes were blue and opaque but after three months and special treatment at the shelter, I got my eyesight back. However, my owner doesn't want me anymore and already has a replacement dog. Although I am a big dog, I tend to get bullied, even by much smaller dogs.

I found a home on Koh Samui! I was lucky!

WHOOPI (female)

I was brought by Daniela from the New Star Resort. Unfortunately, a lot of dogs are poisoned round about there. Everybody denies poisoning the dogs - the hotel blames it on the tourists but the poisoning happens every three months or so. Maybe the New Star Resort is only frequented by dog poisoners! Daniela wanted to sponsor me but there was a small mix up so now Sascha is my sponsor. Sascha spent three weeks working at the shelter with his mother and he really fell in love with me.

Sascha from Zurich in Switzerland will now looking after me. Thank you very much. But I ran away and I am now strolling around the market. But you can find me there very easily. Sascha will surely visit me some time.

KEVIN (male)

My owner Sharon brought me and my friend Kira (to Brigitte. Brigitte was supposed to take care of us until Sharon would take us to Spain. That's what she promised. Unfortunately, Sharon didn't keep her word. Brigitte wrote Sharon many times asking whether she still wants us or not. Sharon never answered. Well, now we are at the shelter and it is not so bad after all, even though we were really looking forward to go to Spain.

Jipee! I was lucky and found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the shelter, Natascha from Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much!

SNAPY (female)

I used to live at the Pinnacle Resort in Maenam. I thought it was a nice resort, but the people there were not nice at all. They have kicked me and pushed me around. One day Antje, a tourist from Germany, came to the resort and fell in love with me. She called Brigitte and asked her to take me to the shelter since there was no future for me in the resort. Of course, Brigitte thinks I am very cute as well and now I run around with many others in front of the kitchen of the shelter in Ban Taling Ngam. I am not the only puppy here, there are more my size with whom I can play all day long. Maybe I am lucky and Antje will take me to Germany later!
Antje from Cologne in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!
GINGER (female)

I used to live on one of the small islands in front of Krabi. There, I was strolling around, very hungry, with a bad eye and searching something to eat when Gary and his girlfriend found me. They were on vacation and had to leave to Bangkok the next day, so they called Brigitte. Then, everything happened very quickly. Gary took me to Bangkok, put me on a plane to Koh Samui and somebody picked me up at the airport and brought me to Brigitte's house. I was checked by the vet, but he said that there is no cure for my bad eye. But that's OK, since I have a lot of pals to play with here, and there is always a lot of food and water.

Jipee: I found a new home on Koh Samui.

While I was living at Brigitte's house, Gary from Fairfax in the USA was looking after me. Thank you very much!

CHARLY SONG (male)

Charly Song found a new home.

During his time at the shelter, Erika and Domagoj from Lüneburg in Germany were looking after him. Thank you very much!

METZI (female)

When I first got to the shelter, I was totally naked. Since I was without any fur, and badly covered with open wounds, nobody seemed to really care where I came from and what I did before the DRCS. Well, now I am here and as you can see, I only miss some hair on my tail. I feel pretty good and have already found some lovely doggies to play with. Cool to finally be furry!

Carina from Austria is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

WHITY 4 (female)

I was brought to the DRCS by some really nice Thai people. I believe they knew that without their help I could not survive. The place where I was born was right next to the road and my 3 other little sisters and brothers all got run over by cars. My mum disappeared and nobody knows what happened to her. I am delighted to now live at the DRCS. I have found a beautiful home here and absolutely love to cuddle! Whity 4 found a new home.

During her time at the shelter, Sira from Embrach in Switzerland was looking after her. Thank you very much!

MERYL (female)

I came to the DRCS when I was a tiny little puppy. I was very sick and people didn't really believe that I would make it. Thanks to Linda and Jay I did make it and hope that I will find a new home one day. Until then I will enjoy every day here at the puppy house and make sure that I put on some more weight.

Meryl found a new home!

During her time at the shelter, Britta from Kalmar in Sweden was looking after her. Thank you very much!

MARZIPAN (female)

I used to have a really nice family and a great place to stay. Unfortunately my family had to leave the island and the neighbors promised to look after me. I think I missed my family so much that I became sick and I started to have some really strange shakes going on all the time. Apparently I have a brain problem that costs the shaking....it's like I'm dancing non-stop. The neighbors though that was an embarrassment and sent me to the DRCS. Here everyone accepts me just the way I am and life has become good again. I still miss my family but the new people around here are just as nice.

Lene from Hvidovre in Denmark is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

GLACIER (female)

Glacier found a new home.

During her time at the shelter, Alexandra from Pfaffenhoffen in Germany was looking after her. Thank you very much!

WHITENECK (female)

Sarah from the UK is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

Text will follow soon

ESTELLE (female)

Like so many of my playmates, I came to the Dog and Cat Rescue Centre Samui when I was a little kitten. There are so many germs around here because new and sick cats keep coming into the house. It´s very hard for the little ones to fight against those bacteria. But I was strong enough and now a big grown up cat. Well actually I’m not that big. But here in Thailand Who is? So why should the animals here get as big as in Europe? Because I’m quite a bit smaller than the other cats I was lucky and allowed to stay at Brigitte’s house after the sterilisation.

Jane from Denmark is now looking after me. Thank you very much!
